DOB: October 13, 1973 In:

[smiles]."
Hobbies/Interests: "Poker"
Favorite Movies: "Artie
Lange's Beer League."
Favorite TV Shows: "Three's
Company and The Simpsons." |
 |
|
|
First Boxing Job: "I would
drive Jameel McCline and Courage
Tshabalala to work in like '95,
driving them to training to spar."
Early Boxing Memory: "Was
watching Larry Holmes destroy Marvis
Frazier in one round on TV. And I
remember Larry Holmes and Tex Cobb
as my earliest boxing memory. I
didn't know anything about boxing -
I thought Tex Cobb won the fight,
you know what I mean, because he
took so much punishment."
|
|
|
 |
Favorite Meal:
"Pizza."
Favorite Ice
Cream Flavor:
"Vanilla."
First Encounter
with a Famous Boxer:
"I was at a shopping
mall, at Fortunoff's
in Wayne, NJ. I was
with my mom and dad,
my dad said, Look,
that's Bobby Czyz.
He was wearing a fur
coat. He was with
some bimbo with big
boobs, he had all
these diamonds and
jewels. And I went
up and asked for an
autograph, I was
probably 12 or 13." |
|
Greatest
Career Moment:
"I don't think I
had it...it's
gonna be when
one of these
guys wins a
heavyweight
title - Monte
Barrett, Ray
Austin, Shannon
Briggs or Jameel
McCline."
Most Painful
Moment: "I
got two really,
one is when
Jameel lost to
Klitschko. And
two was when
Clifford Etienne
got arrested.
That was really
tough because I
was with Etienne
for about a year
and a half."
|
Funny Boxing
Memory: "I don't
know if I have a
funny one. Any time
you spend with Don
King is usually
pretty funny. In one
way or another
[smiles]."
Embarrassing
Boxing Memory:
"I had a few
Toughman fights. And
I got knocked out by
a kid who weighed
about 175 lbs. And I
thought I could go
through him like
nothing and he
knocked me out in
the 2nd round. (What
punch?) I quit on
the stool with like
a broken nose! It
was every punch, the
guy wouldn't stop
hitting me [smiles].
|
|
|
I came out in the
1st, beat the living
daylights
out of him. The kid
didn't move. And
then in the 2nd
round he plastered
me. I broke my nose
and that was that.
(Where was it?)
Greensboro,
somewhere in North
Carolina."
Favorite Boxers
To Watch: "I
always liked -
absolute favorite is
Felix Trinidad. I
just love his style.
He comes forward,
super aggressive.
Offensive - he's
unbelievable. And,
and Shannon Briggs,
Jameel McCline,
Monte Barrett and
Ray Austin."
Childhood Dreams:
"I always wanted to
be a boxer. And I
was horrible. I was
a white guy with no
chin [laughs]."
Favorite Vacation
Spot: "Vegas."
People Qualities
Most Admired:
"Loyalty is number
one. With every
boxer, with Austin,
with Barrett, with
Jameel, with Omar
Sheika, with Shannon
- I have no
contract. And I've
never had any
problem with any of
them."
