Rashad Evans Defeats Quinton Rampage Jackson
Its no secret that these two fighters hate each other and on UFC 114 we got more black on black crime as Rampage originally promised. Unfortunately, Rampage Jackson came off short by losing to Rashad Evans via unanimous decision.
Rashad used his superior wrestling pedigree to dictate the fight. He was patient and stuck to his game plan the whole time. He repeatedly shoved Rampage against the cage and rendered all of his attacks useless.
Meanwhile, Rampage Jackson’s ring rust showed inside the octagon as he looked confused most of the time. His only game plan is trade punches and hopefully get that lucky shot that would win him the fight. His conditioning also seemed terrible and he was gassed by the second round while Rashad was up and about in the cage.
Jackson caught Evans with a solid punch on the mid point of the third round but he failed to finish the fight. Ring Rust? Jackson thought so too as he admitted that he did not like his performance himself during the press conference.He even said that “I (Rampage Jackson) regret making the damned movie“. He said in the presser that he will make a choice between fighting and his movie career because he said he won’t be able to keep up with the top competition if he continues to perform this way.
Meanwhile, Rashad Evans is guaranteed a title shot against the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion – Mauricio Shogun Rua.
